Edit Device |
The Device Management page displays a list of all current devices and their current settings. This function allows you to edit the settings of an existing device, Delete a device from the list, or Back Up device settings to the Val Link database.

To change a device setting, click Edit in the row containing the desired device. The system will display all settings for that device. Enter your setting(s) in the appropriate field(s) as described in Add Device, except that the Type field cannot be changed in edit mode.
Note
If the Work Code
Mode or Function Keys flag
is changed, the device will reboot automatically when you 
your changes.
When there is a large number of devices, the search
button 
may be used
to apply filters to narrow the desired results:

Select the desired filter and enter the criteria for the related field:

To delete a device, click Delete in the row containing the desired device.
The 
function (enabled in edit mode) stores the specified device's settings
in the Val Link database. All current device Types (Normal, Master, Virtual)
are supported. When performing a backup, and the backup is successful,
the system displays an appropriate message:
Should the device require replacement in the future, the Restore function can populate the new, replacement device with the stored settings.
Note
A backup can only be restored to a device at its original Division/Customer/Location – a backup cannot cross divisions.
